Finally a photo of my Mai Cosplay, which I already made and debuted more than one year ago

(and I still wear my old shoes in this photo, now I have way better shoes for this Cosplay)

I just love Mai! She's so awesome, strong and funny, and so beautiful! So I really wanted to cosplay her ^^
The Kanon school uniform is really cute too, I love that design!
I'm really happy with how my costume turned out, I'm pretty much satisfied

I had some problem with choosing the right red fabric, but I like the one I finally chose. And the skirt turned out to be a little bit too short, but well can't change that...
Also this was my first time to lengthen a wig, because I couldn't find a very long one in the right color. But I really wanted to have a very long wig, because I just love Mai's long hair

So I bought some black and some blue synthetic hair and worked it into my beautiful wig. It's not perfect, but I like the result ^^
The sword was made together with my father, he made the basic construction for me, and I made the details on the handle and painted it. I so love my sword *___*
Overall I just love how everything turned out, and until know it's definately one of my favourite Cosplays

And I love Cosplays with weapons or other accessoires, makes posing easier

I first wore this Cosplay on Saturday at the Bookfair in Leipzig 2009. I also wore it on a small Cosplay event and a shooting in April 2009 in Kyoto, Japan, and on Saturday at AnimagiC 2009.

You gotta wonder how the girls at that school survive wearing these uniforms in the winter, lol! It looks like a jacket, but they have to go barelegged. I think whoever designed them was thinking more about looking at girls' underwear on the stairs, rather than how the girls will feel outside in a blizzard or sitting on the cold classroom chairs...

Oh well, at least us guys get nice warm pants!
